Olivia Dunne congratulates LSU teammate on winning top award ahead of semifinals meet
Olivia Dunne has congratulated Haleigh Bryant - her LSU gymnastics teammate - on winning the AII award - the most prestigious prize in college gymnastics - ahead of the Tigers' NCAA semifinals meet in Fort Worth, Texas, on Thursday.
The 21-year-old college senior shared a snap of herself wearing a black cowgirl hat with matching feathers and sunglasses on the team's flight from Baton Rouge on her Instagram Story, Wednesday, as she sat next to another teammate, Chase Brock.
'the Tigz have arrived...' she wrote over the pic', as she also included a cowboy emoji.
Dunne then celebrated Bryant winning the AAI Award, which is given to the most outstanding senior collegiate female gymnast in the country, by paying tribute to the vault specialist. The AII Award is often likened to the Heisman Trophy for women's gymnastics and has become a symbol of excellence in the sport.
Bryant is the 2021 NCAA champion on vault and ranks first all-around in regular season rankings this year. Rankings are based on performances on vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise.
